# REA MCP: reverse-engineering tools for coding agents

Short YouTube overview of REA MCP, an open-source MCP server that connects coding agents to Ghidra, IDA, or Hopper; it highlights a DX-Ball sound-panning formula recovery checked against more than three thousand test cases.

## Description

The video describes REA MCP as an open-source MCP server that lets coding agents drive disassemblers such as Ghidra, IDA, and Hopper. It cites a showcase in which a sound-panning formula is recovered from DX-Ball and checked against over 3,000 tests, while noting that these are small functions rather than whole-program reconstruction. No repository link or detailed walkthrough is provided.

## Original README

REA MCP: reverse-engineering tools for coding agents

Your coding agent can now drive Ghidra through REA MCP. It is an open-source MCP server that plugs Ghidra, IDA or Hopper into agents like Claude Code. You ask in plain English, and the agent drives the disassembler. Its showcase recovers a sound-panning formula from DX-Ball, checked against more than three thousand test cases. Those are the author's own tests, and small functions, not whole programs. So no, it will not rebuild your favorite game by lunch. Would you let an agent loose on a binary?
